This is the extended version of the conversation I accidentally posted between Al and James. Rated R for a rather frank discussion (NOT depiction) of underage sexuality -- in Al's case, two years underage.

"You hardly touched dinner."

"Not hungry, I guess." He looks away, out at the water.

"Can't wait 'til summer's over."

I smirk. "So you can be with Scorpius again."

"Yeah," he murmurs.

I chuckle, shake my head.

"I really don't understand you sometimes."

Al cocks his head. "What do you mean?"

I shrug. "It's just, you could date any bloke at school -- well, any of the poncy ones, anyway -- and you pick a Malfoy. Why?"

Al frowns. "It's not his fault he's a Malfoy."

"Yeah, but it just seems like loads more trouble than it's worth. I mean, what's so special about him?"

Al's mouth quirks. "Everything, really."

"Like what?"

"Like, I dunno...he's probably the smartest person I've ever met."

My mouth twists with scepticism. "Smarter than Rose?"

He nods. "Don't tell her I said so, but...yeah." He pauses. "And he's beautiful."

I snort. "Girls are beautiful, not blokes."

"Well, he's beautiful to me." He smiles. "And he loves me."

Can't argue with that, I suppose. I look out at the water.

"Must be nice to love someone who loves you back."

"It is." He looks at me. "You'll see for yourself someday. You'll fall in love, too."

I frown, look away. "Already have. Only she thinks I'm a complete twat."

Al laughs. "Smart girl, Viv."

I stare at him. "How did you know...?"

Al chuckles. "Everyone knows. You've only fancied her for ages." He smirks. "And you talk in your sleep."

My eyes widen with alarm. "What do I say?"

He shrugs. "Not much -- it's mostly a lot of moaning, with a 'Viv' here and there."

My face grows hot.

"Hope I don't talk in my sleep at school."

Al chuckles again. "Try tossing off before bed. Might cut down on the wet dreams."

I cuff him on the head. "Shut up."

"Oh, come off it. Everyone tosses off." He pauses. "Well, except me and Scorpius, I suppose."

"Why not?"

He shrugs. "No need, right? We do other things."

My brow furrows. "Like what?"

Al blushes. "Like, you know. Other things."

My eyes widen. "You've sucked each other off?"

"Sure. Loads of times." He glances at me. "Don't look at me like that."

"You're fourteen!" I mutter, incredulous.

Al scowls. "Oh, like you wouldn't if you had the chance. With a girl, I mean."

He's a point there.

"Dorming with boys,” Al muses. “One of the benefits of being queer."

"Promiscuous little prat."

“Correction: Uncle Charlie’s promiscuous. I’m precocious. I’ve only done it with one person.” He gives me a sidelong glance; his mouth turns up at the corners. “A lot.”

“I hate you.”

Al leans back on his elbows, grinning. We sit in silence for a moment.

"So...what's it like?"

"Sucking cock? It's bloody brilliant."

I cuff him again. "Not sucking cock, you poncy git. God. Like I want to hear about that." My ears grow warm; I clear my throat. "I meant, you know. The other way 'round."

"Getting your cock sucked?" He grins. "Even better." He nods toward the house. "Reckon you'll find out for yourself soon enough."

I frown. "What are you on about?"

Al smirks. "Oh, don't pretend you didn't notice. Giselle was making eyes at you all through dinner."

Now it's my turn to blush. "She's seventeen, for Christ's sake."

"So?"

I squirm. "I mean...she wouldn't, right? I'm underage."

"Not in France, you're not."

I frown. "And she's our cousin."

"Second cousin," Al corrects me. "And only by marriage. You’ve no common blood."

I consider this for a moment. "Yeah, but still...it's a bit dodgy, yeah? She's family -- sort of."

Al smirks. "Dodgier than Dad marrying his best friend's sister?"

He's a point there, too.

As if on cue, Giselle lopes up to me, all long legs and tanned skin. She flashes me a dazzling smile, tosses her blond curls.

“Zere you are, James,” she pants, breathless from running. “Ready to explore ze cave?”

Al makes an exceedingly lewd gesture behind her back with two fingers and his tongue.

My heart races with anticipation, and no small amount of trepidation as well. I stand, a bit wobbly from the sudden adrenaline rush. She grabs my hand to steady me.

“Er...you do not weesh to join us, do you, Al?” She mutters.

Al shakes his head vehemently. “No, thanks. Caves definitely aren't my thing.”

Giselle smiles at me. “Zen it’s just ze two of us.”

I glance at Al; he gives me a knowing wink. She tugs my hand, and I follow her down the beach -- to new and uncharted territory.
